La gastrulación en ranas con diversos modos de reproducción

Resumen

Las características de la gastrulación fueron analizadas en las siguientes ranas ecuatorianas Gastrotheca riobambae, Colostethus (=Epipedobates) machalilla y Engystomops (=Physalaemus) randi en comparación con Xenopus laevis, la rana que se estudia como organismo modelo del desarrollo embrionario. Se han encontrado profundas diferencias en el proceso de gastrulación en estas ranas. La comparación señala que en C. machalilla y G. riobambae, ranas con desarrollo lento, la convergencia y extensión dorsales (CED) es un proceso que ocurre después de la gastrulación mientras que en las de desarrollo rápido (X. laevis, y E. randi) la CED ocurre durante la gastrulación.
