Sexualidad en personas con enfermedades mentales en Ecuador: una revisión de la literatura

Resumen

Objetivo: Reunir, describir y analizar los resultados de los estudios publicados sobre cualquier aspecto de la sexualidad de personas con enfermedades mentales en Ecuador. Metodologí­a: Se realizó una búsqueda en las bases de datos Lilacs, Redalyc, SciELO, SCOPUS y Red de Repositorios de Acceso Abierto del Ecuador sin establecer restricciones según el año de publicación, idioma o tipo de investigación. Además, se revisaron manualmente las referencias de los documentos preseleccionados por otras investigaciones relevantes. Resultados: La búsqueda de la literatura generó 448 registros de los cuales 5 investigaciones fueron revisadas en su totalidad. En la revisión final se incluyeron dos artí­culos. Conclusión: Pese a la importancia de la temática, esta ha sido gravemente desatendida en Ecuador por una multitud de factores. Atendiendo a las limitaciones de los estudios incluidos en la revisión, no es posible brindar un diagnóstico apropiado de la problemática ni extraer deducciones lí­citas. Se requiere mayor investigación para poder arribar a soluciones adaptadas al contexto y eficaces que procuren un mayor bienestar al individuo.
