Vitrificación de óvulos para preservar la fertilidad en una paciente con Teratoma Ovárico Bilateral

Resumen
Una de las indicaciones para congelar (vitrificar) óvulos con la perspectiva de preservar la fertilidad futura de la mujer, es el diagnostico de tumores del ovario tales como teratomas o endometriomas y en pacientes que van a someterse a tratamientos de quimio o radioterapia, entre las razones más importantes. El desarrollo de nuevas técnicas y medios de cultivo para la vitrificación de óvulos, permite luego de la desvitrificación recuperar el 97% de estos en óptimas condiciones y se logren tasas de fecundación, implantación y embarazo similares a las obtenidas con óvulos frescos.
