The Ecuadorian Journal of Medicine and Biological Sciences (REMCB) is a scientific dissemination platform sponsored by the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador (PUCE), the Benjamín Carrión Ecuadorian House of Culture (CCE), and the Ecuadorian Society of Biology (SEB), and is published through the PUCE Publishing Center.

In March 1963, the first volume of the Ecuadorian Journal of Medicine and Biological Sciences was published, promoted by the Benjamín Carrión Ecuadorian House of Culture (CCE). Since 2005, the scientific editing of the journal has been managed by academics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador.

REMCB publishes original works resulting from scientific and experimental research in all areas of Medicine and Biological Sciences. The journal maintains a peer review system, is published semiannually, provides open access to its content, and is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License. Each article is assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier System).

The copyrights of the publications in the journal belong exclusively to their authors. The publication of scientific articles in REMCB is free of charge. REMCB uses Turnitin as its plagiarism detection system.

REMCB is published in an electronic version (e-ISSN 2477-9148) (http://remcb-puce.edu.ec/index.php/remcb) and is included in PUBMED, Latindex 2.0, Dialnet, REDIB, ROAD, CROSSREF, FATCAT, ZDB, WIKIDATA, and OPENALEX.
