All manuscripts submitted for review in the Ecuadorian Journal of Medicine and Biological Sciences (REMCB) undergo a rigorous antiplagiarism analysis to ensure the originality of the articles. The Turnitin antiplagiarism system is used to verify that the texts are original and meet the editorial quality standards that support the scientific production of the authors.

In addition to using Turnitin, REMCB follows a series of additional guidelines and policies to prevent plagiarism, including:

• Consequences of Plagiarism: Confirmed cases of plagiarism will result in the immediate rejection of the manuscript. If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article will be retracted from the journal, and the authors' affiliated institutions will be notified. Additionally, the authors may be prohibited from submitting future work to REMCB.
