Description of eight new species of D. tripunctata group (Diptera:Drosophilidae), in three andean forests of Napo, Ecuador.

Abstract
Ecuador harbors 35% of the species belonging to the Drosophila tripunctata group, and of the 155 species of Drosophila genus, described in the country, 33 belong to this group. However, the diversity and distribution of these species are still not fully understood. This study aims to expand the knowledge of the biodiversity of the group in Ecuador. Three collections were made in different localities of the Napo province, Ecuador, located in the eastern mountain range: Laguna de Papallacta to 2 550 masl, Río Guango at 2 550 masl, and Cosanga at 2 212 masl. The individuals preserved in alcohol were identified through external morphological and genital analysis. Eight new species for science are described: D. hemiloewi sp. nov., which belong to subgroup IV of tripunctata, D. bivalva sp. nov., D. coniforme sp. nov., D. malki sp. nov., D. mayu sp. nov., D. neopatacorona sp. nov., D. panchiy sp. nov., and D. sillu sp. nov. Of these species only D. hemiloewi sp. nov., and D. neopatocorona sp. nov., present a close relationship with two previously described species D. loewi Vilela and Bächli, 2000 and D. patacorona Rafael and Vela, 2005, respectively.
