REMCB is governed by an internal evaluation system led by academics and employs a double-blind peer review model, ensuring the confidentiality of both authors and reviewers.

The estimated time between the receipt of the article and the final editorial decision is a maximum of 10 weeks. The journal publishes twice a year, in June and December.

Phases of the Evaluation Process

1. Article Submission Authors must submit their proposals through the journal's registration system. This process involves no cost for the authors. The manuscript must comply with editorial standards, and the author must accept the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License.

2. Preliminary Editorial Review The Editorial Team conducts an initial review to verify compliance with minimum publication requirements. At this stage, the team may: a) Reject the manuscript if it does not meet basic editorial criteria. b) Suggest improvements so the author can make a new submission adjusted to the observations.

3. Peer Review Manuscripts that pass the preliminary review are sent for external evaluation under the double-blind system, conducted by at least two specialists in the corresponding thematic area. Evaluators must follow the guidelines established by the journal. If both decisions are favorable, the comments and the editorial decision will be sent to the author to make the pertinent corrections. In the event of conflicting verdicts, the article will be sent to a third evaluator.

Acceptance and Editorial Process

The article will be considered accepted once the Editorial Team approves the second version, corrected according to the suggestions received and submitted within the established timeframe. Subsequently, the manuscript goes through the following stages:

  • Style correction (Copyediting)

  • XML-JATS tagging

  • Layout and final design in PDF and HTML formats

Rework and New Submissions

Contributions that are not accepted may be resubmitted in future calls for papers, provided they are presented with the pertinent corrections. Each new submission will initiate a new evaluation process.

Publication Timelines

Once accepted, the estimated time for article publication is 1 to 3 months, in accordance with the editorial calendar established by the journal.
