Abstract

With the example of maternal mortality in Ecuador, the methodological, empirical (numerators and denominators) and theoretical (or causal) aspects are reviewed to understand it and intervene on it. The logical framework approach is used. Then the process to establish research and intervention priorities is analyzed taking into account the ideological, technical and political aspects.
