Relationship between ischemic heart disease and C-reactive protein.

Abstract
The cardiovascular diseases are associated with prolonged or persistent inflammatory processes causing the increased levels of C-reactive protein (CRP) as acute phase reactants. The objective of the study was to relate the Hscrp in patients with ischemic heart disease. We analysed a total of 91 people, 50 patients with inclusion criteria for the diagnosis of ischemic heart disease and 41 patients with no inclusión criteria, chosen in the area of outpatient and hospitalization of the services of Cardiology of the Hospital of specialties of the armed forces. N ° 1 - Quito and Carlos Andrade Marin Hospital (Hospital IESS - Quito).
Among the habits in the Group of cases prevailed 11 smoking (22 %) followed by alcoholism and smoking together 9 (18 %). 25 (50 %) of this group said have any habit.
Level of glycemic in fasting more than 100 mg/dl found Association of ischemic heart disease (OR = 4.13, 95 % CI: 1.54-11.0), (p = 0.03).
The immediate reading of the PCR-us had no significant difference, p = 0.20 CI 95 % between the two study groups, the reading of the PCR-us 30 minutes p = 0.21 CI of 95 %.
