Main Article Content
Abstract
Since Tjio and Levan verified that the number of human chromosomes was 46, cytogenetics has gained great momentum, having described numerous alterations in the normal chromosome complement of man." This has made it desirable to have laboratory methods that make it possible to the most frequent karyotype study, especially in those cases with various anomalies (somatic or sexual).Of all the techniques described for this study, the most applicable, even in centers with few technical means, are the direct techniques, which use Bone marrow blood aspirates as a source of cells in mitosis.
