An overview of health and medicine in Latin America

Main Article Content

Plutarco Naranjo

Abstract

Latin America is not a homogeneous human conglomerate. Although there are certain common roots: genetic, language, historical and of another nature, it is no less true that between the different countries and different regions there are also profound differences in terms of economic development, national health programs, progress in environmental sanitation, the organization of university teaching and the development of medical research. Latin America is a kaleidoscope of human landscapes.
