Factors Modifying the Adrenaline Response in Isolated Vascular Systems

Abstract

The chemical synthesis of new sympathomimetic amines with vasoconstrictor properties, as well as sympatholytic and antiadrenergic drugs, has increased remarkably in recent times. Various pharmacological techniques have been used for the quantitative assessment of the effect of these drugs, as well as for the relative potency and antagonism assays; some use perfusion of segments of animals with their vascular system intact, and others use rings or spiral cuts of isolated arteries in perfusion chambers.
