Hepatopathies of Drug Origin
Main Article Content
Abstract
The liver constitutes the most important metabolic crossroads of the organism. On the one hand, all the substances that are absorbed from the digestive system towards the portal system, converge towards the liver where many of them are metabolized. The liver has an active participation in the metabolism of proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, and other substances. On the other hand, the substances that are formed in the other organs, such as hormones, catabolites, etc., also flow toward the liver where they can be chemically transformed.
