Arteriosclerosis: pathological findings in 384 necropsies.

Abstract
A total of 384 aortas were studied, samples were obtained from patients who died due to various causes. Pathological data was evaluated according we found that atherosclerotic lesions. We found that atherosclerotic lesions affected only small surfaces that the majority of those lesions correspond to initial. Degrees III and IV, with calcifications and ulcers, were found only in patients older than 50. The frecuency of complications was rather low (aneurisms, thrombosis, infarct). In comparison with result obtained in other countries we have found that in our population the lesions occured less frecuently and they were rather benign
