Vol. 45 No. 2 of REMCB presents a study on Botrytis cinerea, identified for the first time as the pathogen causing gray mold on grapefruit. Also included is the taxonomic description of eight new species of the genus Drosophila, a finding that increases the diversity of insects in Ecuador. In addition, a study analyzed the interaction of plant extracts of the genus Croton with drugs used to control the proliferation of cancer cell lines, as an alternative to cancer treatments. Finally, a study on the sea cucumber Isostichopus fuscus, developed in the Galapagos National Park, highlights the importance and need to study marine ecosystems.
