The Revista Ecuatoriana de Medicina y Ciencias Biológicas (REMCB) is a scientific publication supported by the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador (PUCE), the Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana Benjamín Carrión (CCE) and the Sociedad Ecuatoriana de Biología (SEB), managed by the Centro de Publicaciones de la PUCE. Since its first volume in 1963, the journal has been in continuous growth and is currently under the direction of PUCE academics.

REMCB publishes original research in all areas of the Medical and Biological Sciences, with a peer-review system, and is published biannually in open access under a Creative Commons license so there is no cost to authors or readers. REMCB uses Turnitin for plagiarism detection and assigns a DOI to each publication. The journal is available in electronic version (e-ISSN 2477-9148) and is indexed in Latindex 2.0, Dialnet, REDIB, ROAD, CROSSREF, FATCAT, ZDB, WIKIDATA and OPENALEX.
